Smart facility management with AGVs and robots
In the area of facility management, we are working on reducing the direct handling of dangerous substances by people to a minimum. Real-time consumption data processing is to replace minimum quantity logistics. A seamless exchange of data between the primary process (product manufacture) and the secondary process (plant/supply logistics) is KINETICS' vision for the future.
We have developed a pilot plant for this, in which the automation of dangerous goods handling is taken to the next level.
The drums with the dangerous goods are taken out of the warehouse with a self-propelled transport system (AGV) and driven to the supply station. There, a robot with a specially developed gripper system takes over the connection. The challenge was to develop a system capable of simultaneously tightening in two opposite directions.
In the meantime, the system has passed its practical test and can be used in daily operation 24/7.
